Updating of Links

The company known as “The Linkup” (formerly “MediaMax”) that is hosting my files is still in the process of migrating all their customers’ files – it’s been going on for over 2 months and it’s still not done! As a result, all my links to songs and sermons have been down. I’m currently in the process of hosting some of my files with 4shared.com – currently, a number of songs in the Barnz:Songs section are working perfectly. In the days ahead, I’ll proceed to fix the rest of the songs and the sermons too so that they’re available for listening and download. Thanks for your patience.

Conducted a workshop twice today with the above title at the 2nd Methodist Schools Student Leadership Conference at ACS Barker, a really good conference to get students from all the Methodist schools to network together and talk about issues they face. Here’s the link to the Powerpoint version of the slideshow minus the video clips for my workshop (the version I used during the actual presentation is an Apple Keynote document). Click on the picture below to download the 6.8MB file.

Here are the first four parts of a series of videos clips of my trip to the European Prayer Conference in Piestany, Slovakia last year, which I finally found some time to complete. These 4 parts are from the 1st of 18 tapes and it will certainly take me quite a while to finish all the editing! We left on 25 Nov and came back to Singapore on 2 Dec. The Lord spoke to me rather clearly throughout my trip and it really was quite amazing. On the 13 hour flight to Frankfurt, reading the book, Entering the Sabbath Rest, the Lord said to me, “I’m bringing you 19 hours away from home just to tell you how much I love you!” I wept and I was thankful that no one saw me, most were already sleeping in the dimly lit plane. During the conference, the Lord spoke to me about the significance of the next 12 months in my ministry and reminded me to pray daily and fervently for the church for God’s purposes to be fulfilled. May the Lord inspire you even as you watch these clips, for it was certainly very inspiring to see Christians, fellow Methodists, from various parts of the world (Central Europe, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, USA, Korea and Singapore) worshipping the Lord, learning from His Word together and building each other up in Christian fellowship.

Like A Child (MouseOver OR Click2Listen)
© Pauline Phoon 5 Dec 2006
The phrase “Like a child” rang within me for some days after witnessing the simple faith of children. A time in the valley and feeling so helpless when things went beyond my control. The storm has caused my heart to waiver, losing sight of Abba Father. Yet, once again He comes through. When I tried to run to Him, I stumbled and fell. He came running, with such love and with absolutely no sign of condemnation. He picked me up and held me so close just like the Father towards the prodigal son. Once again I am found in His arms of love.

Like a child, You ask me to come
In simple faith, trusting in You
Abba Father, You stretch out Your arms
Your gentle voice, soothing my soul

There are times when I fall
There are times when I’m weak
There are times when I’m lost
When fear overwhelms me

Still You’re faithfully watching over me
You embalm my hurting heart with Your love
Driving all my doubts as I rest in You
Filling up my valleys with Your promises
I will run to You, You’re my hiding place
I see You running towards me
With such gentle loving eyes
Picking me and holding me
Assuring me that “It’s alright for I AM here, you’re my child”

I am Yours
I’m Your child

Do forgive me for the noises in the recording for it’s only a first draft recording, without any work on details, be it piano or vocal and recorded in one or two takes. =)

reflections were written by entheos since December 1996 originally for publication in the bulletin of a church where the author was an associate pastor. the first 19 reflections listed below were the ones written then. they are included here with minor revisions to suit a wider audience. the reflections beginning with “the light that shines furthest, shines brightest at home”, were written under the pseudonym “entheos” since march 1999 for “the log” – a newsletter for theological students at ridley college, melbourne, australia, when i was a student there. it is my prayer and hope that you find these short reflections meaningful and beneficial to your soul in your journey through life. to read, click on the “reflections4living” page/tab above OR the following link: reflections4living

It is interesting to note how relevant Dr. Smith’s book on revival is even for the church of Jesus Christ today. Revival is the very thing many of today’s churches need yet not the very thing we seek. Instead, we pray about survival issues. What we ought to be praying for is revival, not survival. I hope you’ll find inspiration and Holy Spirit-fire kindling your heart as you read the following extracts from the first few chapters of the book (linked to my personal website, Reflections4Living, last updated way back in July 1999 when I was finishing off my theological training at Ridley College, Melbourne). May the Lord speak to you and inspire you through Dr. Smith’s writings. To read my extracts of several chapters of the book, click on the “The Revival We Need” page/tab above OR the following link: The Revival We Need by Oswald J. Smith
